Thursday, June 16th – Dude Food Grilling Seminar: Beef7:00pm – Grab a set of tongs and join us in our outdoor café as we’ll be preparing a number of dishes all cooked on the grill. Recipes include: Fire Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Cedar Grill Flank Steak, and grilled Pineapple Souffle. Classes will take place at Whole Foods Market Palatine.

Saturday, June 25th – First Harvest Cooking Class

10:30 – 11:30am $10 per person – Smart Farm of Barrington and Whole Foods Market team up to highlight recipes that showcase early season fruits and vegetables. All monies from this event will benefit our One Dime at a Time partner, the Cuba Township Food Pantry.Admission is $10.00 and recipes and sample size portions of all food will be provided. Palatine Illinois Community to Get Chilly Sunday

The Palatine Illinois community has an opportunity to get chilly tomorrow, Sunday, February 27th. The Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics and takes place at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area between 10 and 3 pm. Participants in the event will jump into the freezing water of the outdoor pool at the Recreation Center to raise money.

The Special Olympics that take place in North Suburban Cook County have over 1,200 athletes and the fund raising efforts of events like the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge in Palatine go a long way toward helping these athletes both train and compete. Each participant in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge raises at least $75.

Annual Turkey Shoot in Palatine Saturday

The 20th Annual “Turkey Shoot” Tournament will take place at the Twin Lakes Golf Course in Palatine this Saturday, November 6th. This turkey shoot doesn’t involve guns so bring your clubs! The top finishers will receive turkeys, perfect with Thanksgiving coming up just around the corner. The turkey shoot is a fun, annual Fall golf event in Palatine Illinois.

After the “shoot” enjoy each other’s company while warming up with some delicious chili. The tournament is a two club tournament and costs $25 to enter. The shoot will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Call 847-934-6050 for more information about the Turkey Shoot.
