During these really tough times for real estate, we were skeptical about the sale of our townhome. When we first met Sharron Kelley, we knew instantly that we had found the realtor for us. Throughout the whole process she displayed all of the qualities we needed to get the job done. When we were ready to cry “uncle” she was there to tell us to “hold tight”. When we needed a person to go to bat for us, she took the hard line when she needed to, but compromised with the buyer when she felt it was reasonable.

Another person who we cannot thank enough is Marilyn Smith. Marilyn works on Sharron’s team and she was just genius in helping us to find a rental we secured for the next year. I think Marilyn knew more than we did in what we needed in a temporary home.

They ask ..did you sell your house? Well, thanks to you, we told them that YES..we sold our house. Believe it or not, selling our house was easier than buying our new place! Everybody knows it is certainly a tough market these days, but thanks to you, we sold our house very quickly considering how difficult the market is. We priced our house according to what the market dictated, but we still sold our house for a price that would be considered pretty strong in today’s market. We recently completed a transaction to sell our home in Mundelein, IL with the assistance and guidance of Sharron Kelley and her team. We moved to Denver in 2007 and put the house up for sale with our first agent. After a few months of limited showings and no offers, we were in the middle of a declining market without a plan. It was time for a change.

Our second agent was much more experienced at selling in a difficult market. We had some interest in the house during 2008 but never received a solid offer. We rented the house and took it off the market for a few months and then re-listed with the renters on a month to month lease. During 2009 we had a lot of traffic but no repeat showing and no offers. Eventually we found that the renters had caused some damage to the house, it was dirty, over priced, and not showing well. There was limited communication from that agent and a total lack of follow through.

In the seven years we lived in the house, we remembered a number of homes in our subdivision and the surrounding areas had been listed with Sharron Kelley. We approached Sharron for her thoughts and were immediately impressed.

Sharron gave us her opinion on the market and what types of properties were currently selling. She arranged to take a tour of the house and gave us some very solid advice: we would be unlikely to sell the house unless the renters moved out, the main floor needed to have new paint, and we would need to set a more realistic price for the market. This wasn’t what we wanted to hear but it was what we needed to be told.

We terminated the rental agreement, painted the main floor – Sharron arranged for a designer to pick the color combination – and set a realistic price. The house was thoroughly cleaned and put up for sale around Thanksgiving. We had a few showings during the holiday season and then started getting serious interest in January. One of the showings turned into a second showing and then into an offer which closed in March.
During the process, the Sharron Kelley Team really demonstrated their value. Sharron provided enough information that we could set a competitive listing price. The house was marketed through numerous internet sites and presented much better than the listing from our previous agents.

We received regular updates on showings, web site views, agent feedback, and were given a variety of summary information not seen previously. Sharron is a great communicator and never failed to follow through with an answer to any question. She is polite, professional, and the best selling agent we have ever used (we have now sold houses in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Chicago). Based on our experience, we would recommend Sharron Kelley and the Sharron Kelley Team to anyone looking to sell a property.
