Winberie’s will be hosting Easter brunch this year from 9am to 4pm. Reservation are available in 1 1/2 hour increments as follows:  9am -10:30am, 10:45am – 12:15pm, 12:45pm – 2:15p, and 2:30pm – 4:00pm. Reservations are required and do fill up quickly.

I called the hostess at Winberie’s for additional information and was greeted in a professional and courteous manner. I was informed that in addition to what’s on the map there will alsoo be two more carving stations including ham, turkey, and roast leg of lamb. As you turn north on Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills, IL you will be greeted by a large sign that says this way to the Vernon Hill’s Winter Wonderland. The street is lined with orange cones directing you to the right lane and forward to the entrance.

Upon entering the grounds of the Cuneo Mansionyou change your radio station to 107.1 and the glorious sounds of holiday music will fill your car. You are instructed to turn your vehicles headlights off for maximum enjoyment of the spectacular light extravaganza.

As the tour starts the driveway is lined with large cutouts of characters from Disney, Nickelodeon, and multiple characters from classic holiday story lines. The first large light display is a large American flag , the 12 days of Christmas, and you will drive under lighted archways guiding you to the next display.

As we drove through a tunnel of lights oohing and aahing at the wonderment and sparkle of the lights we approached the guard house in which you pay the entrance fee. The cost on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night is $10.00 and $5.00 during the week.

After passing the Cuneo Mansion, which in itself is quite a site, you drive through a bend in the road and then your eyes descend upon the magic of the mansion grounds. There are holiday lights as far as the eye can see. The are large displays of toy soldiers, a barn, a carnival, swans, and the list goes on and on.

The Drive Thru Holiday Light Show presented by the Village of Vernon Hillsin cooperation with the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens is held annually on the magnificent grounds of the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens. This spectacular site is a must see and should be added to your list of holiday family traditions.
